Cozy Apartment in Catania's Historic Center

Comfortable 45 sqm apartment on two floors (ground floor and first floor) in a building without lift in the historic center of Catania, 15 minutes walk from the Ancient Greek-Roman Theater and 20 minutes from Piazza del Duomo. The accommodation can host up to 2 people. Please note the presence of steps to access the building and internal spiral staircases.

The property consists of bedroom, dining area with kitchenette, bathroom and balcony with internal exposure.

The internal space is organized as follows:

GROUND FLOOR
- DINING AREA with dining table, chairs and TV;
- KITCHENETTE with gas hob, fridge, electric oven, electric kettle, moka, kitchenware and wine glasses;
- BATHROOM with shower box (raised), sink, bidet and WC;

FIRST FLOOR
- BEDROOM with double bed, wall wardrobe, chest of drawers and split inverter;
- BALCONY (access from the bedroom) with internal exposure.

FURTHER SERVICES AVAILABLE TO GUESTS: unlimited wifi, heating and air conditioning via split inverter (in the bedroom), hairdryer, drying rack, iron and ironing board.
Availability of a cot for children.

ATTENTION: the heating is only via split inverter and is only present in the bedroom on the first floor.

Please note the presence of internal spiral staircases. Be careful if you are traveling with children.

The apartment is for the exclusive use of our guests and won't be shared with the host or other tenants.

We are very flexible and are happy to organize early check-ins/late check-outs when there are no other guests entering or leaving the apartment on that same day. All requests will be confirmed a couple of days before your arrival.

A member of our Team Catania will contact you a few days before your arrival to organize your check-in. They will meet you at the apartment to hand you the keys and they will be at your disposal for any information and further assistance before and during your stay. We are available by phone, e-mail and/or Airbnb direct messaging service.

To ensure the security of your personal data, 7 days before your arrival you will receive instructions to register your documents and to pay the city tax (€2,00 per person per night of stay) via our Guest Portal.

Switching on and off air conditioning and heating is subject to compliance with current Italian legislation (DPR 16/04/2013 n.74, DM 6/10/2022 n.383).
Summer: the average air temperature must not get below 26°C (78,8 °F) for all kinds of buildings.
Winter: the weighted average of the air temperatures must not exceed 19°C (66,2 °F). Time and period of operation depend on the climatic zone defined by the standard.
Catania Climatic Zone B: 7 hours a day from December 8th to March 23rd.

For all late check-ins from 21:00 to 00:00, we require an extra charge to be paid cash upon check-in as per the following:
From 21.00 to 23.00: EUR 25
From 23.00 to 00.00: EUR 30
Late check-ins are not available after midnight.

AIRBNB will automatically charge you with the city tax due to the Municipality of Catania. We suggest you to ask for the exemption to Airbnb directly if you are resident in Catania or if you have children under 16 years old because you are not required to pay it.

In case of incorrect waste disposal in compliance with the rules that will be explained to you at check-in, a penalty of € 150 will be charged.

The apartment is located in the historic center of Catania, a few steps from Porta Garibaldi. The excellent location allows you to visit all the main points of interest in the area on foot: Piazza Duomo and the Cathedral of Sant'Agata, the historic local market, the Benedictine monastery, the Ursino Castle, the Greek Roman theatre, the Vincenzo Bellini opera house and the garden of the same name.
Walking through the streets of the city, there are numerous clubs, restaurants, bars and pastry shops, where you can enjoy the renowned cuisine and typical products of the region, known throughout Italy and around the world.

The area is well served by public transport, with bus stops within walking distance of the accommodation, making it easy to access the historic center and other attractions in Catania.

- Benedictine monastery: 16 minutes on foot;
- Ursino Castle: 19 minutes on foot;
- Piazza Duomo: 20 minutes on foot;
- Cathedral of Sant'Agata: 20 minutes on foot;
- Via Etnea: 23 minutes on foot.

-From Catania Fontanarossa airport: it is possible to reach the apartment thanks to bus transport from the ALIBUS terminus to the "Stazione Centrale" stop. Here, change lines and continue with the bus to the "746" stop, an 8-minute walk from the property.
Alternatively, you can take a taxi (journey time approximately 10 minutes).

-From Catania Centrale station: it is possible to reach the apartment thanks to various bus lines, with stops not far from the property.

-For those traveling by car: it is possible to park for a fee at the garage "Autorimessa Smap Car", in Via Grotta Magna, a 14-minute walk from the apartment.
