Castelmola Casa Chiocciola with Terraces

Cozy accommodation of 115 sqm, organized on three levels and able to accommodate up to 6 people. The property, with two terraces (one of which with sea view), is located in the heart of the historic center of Castelmola, ranked among the most beautiful villages in Italy, a few steps from the castle of Mola and the viewpoint of Piazza Sant'Antonio, which offers a breathtaking view of Taormina and the sea.

The accommodation is organized as follows:

-> GROUND FLOOR:
- KITCHEN with gas hob (4 burners), fridge with freezer, moka coffee maker, kettle, wine glasses, kitchenware and dining table;
- BATHROOM I with sink, bidet, toilet and shower;
- BEDROOM I with double bed, clothes stand, chest of drawers, TV and access to the mezzanine;
- MEZZANINE with double sofa bed (NOT separate from the rest of the bedroom);

-> FIRST FLOOR:
- BEDROOM II with double bed and bathroom access I;
- BATHROOM II with sink, bidet, toilet and shower;

-> SECOND FLOOR:
- KITCHENETTE with coffee machine and access to the terrace;
- SERVICE BATHROOM/LAUNDRY ROOM with toilet;
- TERRACE I with tables and chairs, with spiral stairs leading to TERRACE II.

FURTHER SERVICES AVAILABLE TO GUESTS: unlimited wifi, air conditioning with heat pumps (split in the kitchen, in the two bedrooms and on the second floor), heating, fan, washing machine, insect screens, iron and ironing board, drying rack and hair dryer.
Camping cot available in the accommodation.

PLEASE NOTE: there are several spiral staircases in the accommodation: pay particular attention if you are traveling with children.

Switching on and off air conditioning and heating is subject to compliance with current Italian legislation (DPR 16/04/2013 n.74, DM 6/10/2022 n.383).
Summer: the average air temperature must not get below 26°C (78,8 °F) for all kinds of buildings.
Winter: the weighted average of the air temperatures must not exceed 19°C (66,2 °F). Time and period of operation depend on the climatic zone defined by the standard.
Castelmola Climatic Zone D: 11 hours a day from November 8th to April 7th.

For all late check-ins from 20:30 to 00:00, we require an extra charge to be paid cash upon check-in as per the following:

Late check-ins are not available after 00:00

In case of incorrect waste disposal in compliance with the rules that will be explained to you at check-in, a penalty of € 150 will be charged.

Castelmola is a small village in Sicily that seems to have remained immune to the passage of time. Ranked among the most beautiful villages in Italy, it is located on the boulder that rises above Taormina, a short distance away. The name of Castelmola derives from the Sicilian "a mola" and indicates the particular conformation of the boulder on which it stands which, in fact, resembles that of a tooth. From Piazza Sant’Antonio viewpoint, it is possible to admire the view of Taormina and the Ionian belt of the province of Messina, up to the slopes of Catania. The Ancient Roman Arch overlooks the large square, placed at the top of a staircase in limestone, which once represented the entrance to the Castle. The latter was once an ancient defensive fortification of the Peloritana chain which also included the fortress of Taormina. It currently houses the Museum of the Sicilian Middle Ages and is home to the "Falconry", an ancient Sicilian art. The picturesque churches are also worth visiting, including the small San Giorgio and San Biagio, the Cathedral of San Nicola di Bari and the Mother Church from which it is possible to admire a splendid view overlooking Mount Etna and the Gulf of Naxos.

The Interbus bus stop, which guarantees connection in 15 minutes to Taormina, is located less than 200 meters from the property.

- From Catania Fontanarossa airport, it is possible to reach the apartment by taking the Etna Trasporti bus service to Taormina Bus Terminal, from which it is possible to take the Interbus company bus which stops a 2-minute walk from the accommodation.

ATTENTION: if you reach Taormina by car, please note that the entire historic center of Taormina is closed to traffic, so you will have to leave your car in one of the city's car parks.
